Braden LuBell, Founder
Braden (they / them) is the Founder and Lead Artist for Hewing Studios. They are a director, writer, post-production artist, producer, and designer who wants to ensure you - and your audience or customers - have the most valuable experience possible. As a multi-hyphenate, they perform or oversee all services Hewing Studios provides, and also maintain partnerships with creatives & experts around the globe, to make sure your project gets the well-rounded, discerning, perfectionist treatment we all hope for. They received their Master’s in Filmmaking from The London Film School and their BA from Emerson College.

The Film + Post Studio
Before receiving their Master’s in Filmmaking from The London Film School, Braden was the creator, director, producer, and post production artist behind the original series QUICK & DIRTY. They have directed, written, and produced several short films, and they are author of multiple TV pilots & several feature film scripts. Currently they provide recurring editing services on promotional & industrial videos for Mudroom Creative. Before entering the film & video medium, Braden worked as a Casting Director for Telsey + Co (NY) and spent over 15 years directing, writing, and producing plays in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.
The Website + Branding Design Studio:
In 2010, Braden saw a growing need for the actors in their community to have professional websites, and the timing of this coincided with Braden creating their former theatre company - which needed a website, branding, a ticketing reservation system, and a stream of branded-voice copywriting. These skills were a natural offshoot of their experience with graphic design, writing, and marketin, and producing their own work. Now, Braden has created websites & branding for small business owners and artists spanning a multitude of industries, including fab-lab creators, personal sommeliers, writers, commercial painters, and even a German bike tour company.
The Résumé Design Studio:
After two decades of designing promotional materials, branding, and websites, and designing & rewriting résumés for loved ones, Braden decided to offer professional services to those looking to improve their work lives and overall well-being. This transition included taking workshops with hiring managers and having consultations with recruiters, to ensure the Hewing Studios product will impress in the job market. Since then, many happy clients have sent texts and emails glowing about their exciting new jobs and improved self-esteem.
The Photography Studio:
Spending a decade as a photography hobbyist, Braden honed their technical skills at The London Film School. It was there they learned the ins and outs of both manual and digital cameras, the science and art of lighting, and the formal rules of composition and how it effects the psyche of the viewer. London and the rest of the UK served as boundless inspiration for landscape and cityscape photography, as did exploring other nearby European countries, and provided several years of opportunity for behind-the-scenes (BTS) shooting on a variety of film sets. Before London, Braden served as a headshot consultant for actors in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles for over 15 years - so branching out into portrait photography was the natural next step.
